Annual Lantern Floating Ceremony |
Every year on Memorial Day, thousands of people gather together at Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park to honor ancestors and loved ones who have passed away. More than 1,100 candle-lit lanterns are set afloat on the ocean, a traditional Buddhist rite originating in Japan. This will be the first annual Festival at the Waikalua Loko Ia. It is a 400 ancient Hawaiian fishpond that has undergone a restoration since 1995. Molokai 2 Oahu Paddleboard World Championship |
The Molokai 2 Oahu Paddleboarding World Championships crosses the Kaiwi Channel that connects the Islands of Molokai and Oahu. This 32-mile journey across the 2,300-foot-deep channel has challenged athletes since the first organized outrigger race in 1952.
Competitors can choose to race on either a traditional paddleboard or a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) as a solo paddler or as a 2-man or 3-man team. Solo paddlers can choose to paddle in either the unlimited class (no size limit and with a movable rudder system) or stock class (12 feet or under for paddleboard, 14 foot or under in SUP with fixed rudder).

"You Are Here" Pavilion/Exhibit Project at Pearl Harbor Aviation Musuem |
Phase 1 - USS Arizona Bulkhead Display: Detailed design and fabrication of a pedestal, armature and permanent signage and plaques will be created for the USS Arizona bulkhead. A temporary shelter to secure/protect the relic and shelter our visitors will be designed. This phase will open during 75th Anniversary of the end of WWII – August 29, 2020.
Phase 2 – Interpretive Pavilion: We will design, engineer and fabricate a permanent structure to secure/shelter relic and interpretive exhibitry, creating a pavilion. This will provide visitors a "You are Here" experience and help them understand the stories and first-person recollections from bases and airfields throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Phase 2 will be unveiled during the 79th Anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack in December 2020.

The Hawaii Book & Music Festival, will be held at UH Manoa campus as the new 2020 Hawaii Book, Arts & Music Festival (BAMF), It will consist of 12-15 venues including solo and panel presentations, a main stage and other music, hula, dance, drama, and storytelling performance venues, and an evening concert. There will be a Publishers Village of some 30+ booths a food court and other amenities

"Ho ike ike Pili Kai" is a series of four (4) two-day celebrations to appeal to the resident and repeat "seasoned" traveler. All celebrations include one weekend day for greater resident appeal with two celebrations in May and November designated visitor industry shoulder season months.
With education as a primary focus, the admission rates provide great value for adults at $12 visitor, $8 for residents, Juniors ages 4-12 years at $4 and Children 4 and under Free.

The Keiki Makahiki Challenge is Hawaii's only 1.5 mile obstacle mudrun for kids. This exciting journey will take participants (ages 5-13) through hills, obstacles, and mud. Designed to introduce the keiki to the wonderful world of OCR (obstacle course racing), it is easy enough for children of every level to do! And one parent can run with their keiki for a small fee! After running through epic scenery and getting muddy, your kids will be smiling the entire day!
